Grandma Rose is on a roll this week with many of her Thoughts of the Day than ever before. I personally enjoy them and wonder if she chose them based on what was going on during that particular day or if it was just something she heard or read recently and it stuck with her. //shrug// I’m sure I’ll never know the answer to that. And poor Len and his foot! I’m curious what the next couple of weeks holds in store for his recovery. And her poor back! Goodness grief – someone needs to kick that Billy Carter in the pants. Not showing up. Grr!
I don’t really have a good image for this week but since she mentions the lipstick plant twice, I chose an image of that because my dad had one of those as well for a long time when he lived in Newark, so there we go. Look at the plant this week. 🙂
NOTE: As always, I left her spelling, capitalization, and punctuation as much as possible.

Thought for the day: The end of the human race will be that it will eventually die of civilization. – Ralph Waldo Emerson 1803-1882
March 27, 1977 – Ef and Ralph down for a few hours. While Ralph & Len talked, Ef and I took a turn around the yard and visited the greenhouse. She liked the lipstick plant – I gave her a piece with the bloom to show Marilyn. Also gave her a few to give to Vicki.
Thought for the day: ” I think somehow we learn who we really are, and then learn to live with that decision.” Eleanor Roosevelt
March 28, 1977 – Cloud and warm. Rained some.

March 29, 1977 – Pump went off today. Len called Billy Carter. The door to the well kit seems to be getting heavier each time I have to lift it. Just kills my back. Billy just put in a new box Feb. 29th.
Can hardly move this eve. Thought I’d drop while getting supper.

March 30, 1977 – Pump off again. Carol helped me carry over a big board to put over the well kit so it wouldn’t be so heavy for me to lift it off to push the reset button. Billy can’t come tomorrow – has to get to school.
Embroidered some on my amaryllis project this afternoon while I watched my soap opera. Took out one of the kitchen windows and put in a screen today. Couldn’t stand the heat in the house. 80°
Back not quite so tired tonight. Worked in the garage for half an hour or so.
Terribly, terribly windy all day long.
Thought: A daughter is the measure of all things beautiful
March 31, 1977 – (Birthdays) Pearl Armstrong, Bill Jones, Mary Bradford
Carter didn’t show up today altho’ we got up early. Pump stayed on all day thank goodness.
Didn’t want to start any big project so did some more embroidering on my amaryllis this afternoon – Looking more real all the time. Had to lie down for an hour or so today.
Len finished his 7th rooster for my curtains. Then I’ll have to get busy on the curtains.
